Monet's Hexagon

I've always loved hexagons, having lived in a hexagonal house but I wanted something different from the 'old fashioned' look usually associated with hexagon block quilts. And of course, a wallhanging quilt doesn't have to be square or retangular! I've used a mix of pastel and vivid hand-dyes to create an effect that reminds me of Monet's garden at Giverny.

Home is where the Hearts are

This is the quilt that my family and I reach for when we want something cosy to pull over ourselves. Normally this technique is only used with flannels but I wanted to show that it's just as effective with any cottons, provided cotton batting is also used. The quilt is quite reversible - use a range of beautiful hand-dyes on the back like I did.

Taurus

I made this quilt for a man, so I used checked shirting material mixed with toning hand-dyes. It's a deceptively simple design, and looks far more complicated than it is. Thei design would look great in most color and fabric combinations.  Size 55" square without borders.
